Every weekend, Xiqu centre holds a beginner friendly Chinese opera session (Tea House Theatre Experience) which features beginner friendly but well-known Cantonese opera pieces with English subtitles on the side of the stage, and a dim sum box on the side. I took my then boyfriend there (who didn’t speak a lick of Mandarin nor Cantonese) and he very much enjoyed the performance. The dim sum quality was also great for my Chinese tastebuds.
